Abstract:

Some parasites manipulate the behavior of their hosts to further their own transmission. We can demonstrate this experimentally in model systems by comparing behaviors and predation risk in infected and uninfected hosts. These same principles apply to some parasites of humans, like Toxoplasma gondii, with subtle, but broad implications for human society.
