We are happy to invite you to the sixth edition of the seminar “Models in Ecology and Evolution“, in Montpellier, on the 2nd and 3rd of June 2015 in the Institute of Botany (163 Rue Auguste Broussonnet, 34000 Montpellier). This seminar is organized by PhD students and is dedicated to students (PhD students, postdocs, undergrads) interested in theoretical approaches in ecology and evolution. It has three main objectives:

- giving an overview of current modeling techniques used in ecology and evolution research: which tools for which questions?;

– highlighting similarities and complementarities between different methodological approaches through direct dialogue between participants;

– discussing how models contribute to scientific knowledge and how their outcome is of use to society.

The seminar is intended to favour exchange as much as possible, and consists in a series of talks by invited researchers and students. Registration is free and lunches will be provided by the organization. We encourage participants to register as quickly as possible and to propose talks (15 minutes + 10 minutes for questions). The deadline for registration is fixed to the 11th of May, 2015.
