AUGUST 19-22 : EVOLUTION 2018 - 2nd Joint Congress on Evolutionary Biology
ESEB is delighted to welcome you to the Second Joint Congress on Evolutionary Biology. Joint Congresses take place every six years and bring together four of the world's largest academic societies in the field of evolutionary biology: the European Society for Evolutionary Biology, the American Society of Naturalists, the Society for the Study of Evolution and the Society of Systematic Biologists. The first joint congress was in Ottawa, Canada in 2012. The current (i.e. second) will be held in Montpellier, France, on August 19-22 2018.
Symposium selection will take place during summer 2017 and the list of selected symposia will be published in fall 2017.
The call for contributed talks will be released shortly after the selected symposia are identified. Individuals wishing to give a talk or poster must apply to one or more relevant symposia as all contributions (i.e. talks and posters) occur through the various symposia. The organizers of each symposium will select among contributed talks/posters proposals that they have received. The selection will be based on the submitted abstracts. Consult the Important dates of the meeting for more details concerning the timing of these steps.
The organizers value gender balance and wish to ensure that symposia selected for this meeting draw participants of both sexes equally. ESEB EO conference attendance aid grants are therefore available with the aim to increase the participation of women. Childcare will also be provided on the venue during the whole conference.
Organizing societies offer travel stipends to support participation. Consult their web pages for more information.
Isabelle Olivieri was a strong proponent of the joint Evolution congresses and devoted a lot of effort while she was President of ESEB to see them launched. We therefore dedicate this meeting to her memory.
This site will be updated as soon as relevant information becomes available. Visit it regularly!
We look forward to seeing you in Montpellier!
